Why Land is a Smart Investment

Investing in raw earth is one of the smartest things anyone can do with their money today.  Buying vacant land means just that, it’s vacant.  Accordingly, nobody has tampered with the real estate before, so when the time comes, whoever buys it can build whatever they have dreamed of building, grow whatever the environments allow, and enjoy the recreational activities on their private piece of property.  Additionally, we can evaluate the worth of purchasing land as an investment in the following ways:

1) Raw Land is a Hands-Off Investment

For as long as the land is owned and vacant, there is no need to maintain the property.  Raw earth is a unique investment in that it manages itself over time.  Properties such as land can sit and appreciate for years without you ever lifting a finger.  When compared to the housing market, if a property is not adequately insured, natural disasters and tenants can result in an overwhelmingly damaged home.  Furthermore, over some time a house is guaranteed to require maintenance, which often leads to never-ending money pits instead of the initially planned investment.  Fortunately, vacant land resolves these pressing issues, allowing its owner to relish in a stress-free investment.

“Real estate cannot be lost or stolen, nor can it be carried away. Purchased with common sense, paid for in full, and managed with reasonable care, it is about the safest investment in the world.”
-- Franklin D. Roosevelt, U.S. president

2) There Are Very Few Competitors In Land Investments

Land investments are an overlooked market for investors.  However, the investment in land can become very lucrative when someone can research properties effectively.  Just like stocks, people buy and sell vacant land without ever seeing them in person, and beyond that, land can increase income potential via seller financing. On the other hand, the mainstream game of investing in commercial and residential real estate comes with much competition that can often overwhelm the market, causing inflations and costing investors and new homeowners stress over the unfair playing fields.

“Now, one thing I tell everyone is learn about real estate. Repeat after me: real estate provides the highest returns, the greatest values and the least risk.”
-- Armstrong Williams, entrepreneur

3) Land Investor Freedom

If buying land is more of an investment, that investment can appreciate in cost effective and easy ways.  A whole ranch can be subdivided and sold with returns much more significant than if the entire property were sold all at once.  Also, by simply developing a piece of property such as drilling water wells, building roads, and adding utilities the value in your land can and will increase.  On a more long-term basis, land is very inexpensive to own which is great when it is used to hold money and preserve as a family asset securely.  Vacant property is one of the only investments that can give its owner real sense of peace of mind.

“Ninety percent of all millionaires become so through owning real estate. More money has been made in real estate than in all industrial investments combined. The wise young man or wage earner of today invests his money in real estate.” -- Andrew Carnegie, billionaire industrialist

4) They Aren’t Making Any More of it

Like gold and popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, there will only ever be so much land in the world.  With this in mind, land investments will continue to appreciate over time.

“Buy land, they’re not making it anymore.” -- Mark Twain, writer and humorist

5) Capitalism, Bitcoin, and Real Estate

Capitalism = A social system based on the recognition of individual rights, including property rights, in which all property is privately owned

Like cryptocurrencies, property ownership is a staple of generational wealth.  Land is an asset that provides financial security now and in the future and is quickly becoming a form of stable returns for cryptocurrency investments.  There are two ways in which everyone should be investing today – uniting traditional assets in property with new age assets in Bitcoin.  This strategy allows the investor to have both holdings in intrinsic value and in a market value that will appreciate over time.  With this, real estate investing will provide a secure and consistent long-term investment while the cryptocurrency will give the short term, high return investment.  Because real estate is a tangible investment that can be fully insured, investing in it via Bitcoin provides more security than if it were kept in cold storage, offline vault.  Further, it is possible for a Bitcoin wallet to be lost or stolen, however, if the Bitcoin is invested via a property, it will no longer bear the potential of being lost or stolen, if it is insured.
